Forests are being cut down and poachers are killing animals for their skins, horns, and fur all over the world. That makes us sad and mad. We started learning about how bad the problem was and realized that animals weren't treated well enough. So many people are chopping down trees, and those are the homes of many animals. They lose their homes and die. We thought we could be heroes for the animals.
Over Christmas break, we had a great idea! We had a hot cocoa stand and raised $11 in an hour from people who cared about animals. We all pitched in and made $55 to donate to the World Wildlife Fund. It was fun to decide what kind of animal to adopt or sponsor. We decided on an Emperor Tamarin. It lives in the forests of South America and is losing its home to farmers and people chopping down trees for paper. We wanted to start a website so other kids could do the same and help animals! Here is the link to adopt or sponsor an endangered animal. https://gifts.worldwildlife.org/gift-center/gifts/Species-Adoptions.aspx
